On October 10-12, 2008, a seminar was held by the International Charity Fund “For the Future of Fencing” and Kazakhstan Fencing Federation in Alma-Ata training-methodological Centre.	17.10.2008 Alisher Usmanov, President of the European Fencing Confederation continues prepararions for the Congress of the International Fencing Federation On December 6 a regular Congress of the International Fencing Federation (FIE) was held in «Méridien Montparnasse Hotel» in Paris.	09.10.2008 According to the Press Service of the Russian Fencing Federation (RFF), "Mr. Alisher Usmanov, the Head of the Federation, is nominated for the presidency of the International Fencing Federation (FIE)". From July 2005, Alisher Usmanov is the Head of the European Fencing Confederation.
